Another entry in the daytime talk derby has been announced, with Sony readying a talk show to be hosted by Queen Latifah, Deadline.com reports.

Among the principals behind the show are Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, according to the report. Both Will Smith and Queen Latifah started in hip-hop, the story notes.

The show is targeting a fall 2013 launch. Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit will co-produce with Will Smith’s and James Lassiter’s Overbrook Entertainment, along with Sony Pictures Television. Shakim Compere, a partner in Flavor Unit, and Miguel Melendez of Overbrook will executive produce with Queen Latifah, Lassiter, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, the story says.

Queen Latifah’s first acting gig was a story arc on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” which was also Will Smith’s first role, the story notes.

Said Compere: “We’ve had a long and successful history both personally and professionally with Overbrook’s Miguel, JL, Jada and Will. We share a common vision and have been wanting to collaborate for quite some time.”
