Grammy Award-winning singer Whitney Houston, who is said to be clean and sober now after years of troubles with drugs, was nearly thrown off a Delta airplane Wednesday, reports TMZ.com.
Houston was on a Delta flight from Atlanta to Detroit when she refused to use her seat belt, according to the report. The flight attendants apparently warned her that the plane would not take off is she were not buckled up. Despite the warning, Houston would not fasten her seat belt and got incensed about the way she was being treated, the story reports.
Finally, a different crew member went to Houston and buckled the belt for her. The flight was then cleared and took off without further incident. Houston was on her way to Detroit to begin filming a new movie.
Houston is currently working on "Sparkle," a remake of the 1976 musical of the same name. "American Idol" star Jordin Sparks is playing the title role, while Houston will be playing Effie, Sparkle’s mother.
