A witness to a fight involving Shia LaBeouf says the actor threatened to pull a knife on him after being knocked to the ground by another man, TMZ.com reports.

The sidewalk fracas was captured on video, which can be seen here.

Shea Carter is seen in the video restraining an apparently drunk LaBeouf after the fight outside a Vancouver bar. Carter told TMZ he spotted LaBeouf inside the club, the Cinema Public House, before the confrontation and noticed that the actor was “drunkenly swaying into several patrons,” the story reports.

According to Carter, one patron calmly asked LaBeouf, “Hey man, watch out.”

The story reports: “Carter says Shia replied, ‘Oh yea? Or what? What are you going to do about it?’ That’s when the two decided to take things outside … and the guy beat Shia down to the ground.”

Carter, described as a local hip-hop artist who’s also a regular at the bar, can be seen in the video restraining LaBeouf, which Carter says he did to keep the actor from going back inside and presumably getting in more trouble. LaBeouf then got aggressive with Carter, the story says, telling him, “Well, what if I grabbed my knife on you?”

Carter says LaBeouf never did pull a knife, and eventually walked away. Carter told TMZ that after he went back inside the bar, LaBeouf “appeared outside a window and made a throat-slashing gesture at him … before leaving for the night.”

LaBeouf’s rep had not responded to requests for comment on the incident, the story notes.
