After George Clooney bowed out back in August and Bradley Cooper decided last week to pass on the project, as previously reported, a new name has emerged as a contender for the lead role in the big-screen version of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," Deadline.com reports.
The latest prospect is Channing Tatum, the story reports. Tatum is a former model who has appeared in “Step Up” (2006), “Public Enemies” (2009) and “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” (2009).
Steven Soderbergh is directing the feature, which is based on the NBC spy series from the 1960s that starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum. Soderbergh recently directed Tatum in "Magic Mike."
