Two graduates of Fox’s "American Idol" were given the national spotlight on televised Thanksgiving Day events, and both flubbed badly, the New York Daily News and Access Hollywood report.

Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina was singing the National Anthem before the NFL game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers when she went blank on the lyrics and stopped singing for few seconds. After the line "What so proudly we hailed, through the twi…" she forgot the words. She returned to the song by "Whose broad stripes and bright stars…" but the damage had been done.

Scott McCreery, who was the winner of season 10, appeared on a float in NBC’s "Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade," and when the camera was on him and he was given the cue to sing, a timing problem caused him to come in late, Access Hollywood reports. Unfortunately, he was lip-synching the song, "The Trouble with Girls," so the singing began without him and he was visibly flustered. He jumped in, but anyone watching knew that it was a canned performance.
