‘American Music Awards’ Match Lowest Ratings Ever as NBC Wins Sunday Night With Football

ABC’s Sunday night broadcast of the “American Music Awards” matched last year’s program in the ratings, equaling the all-time low for the ceremony, Reuters reports.

The ceremony averaged a 4.3 rating in adults 18-49, with 12 million total viewers. NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” featuring the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the New York Giants, was off 10% from last week but still dominated the night with a 7.3 average rating in 18-49 and 17.5 million total viewers.

NBC averaged a 5.5 for the night in the 18-49 demo to win the night, beating ABC (3.5 average), CBS (2.8) and Fox (2.2). NBC averaged 14.8 million total viewers for the night, ahead of CBS (11.9 million), ABC (10.1 million) and Fox (4.7 million).
