A docudrama about California lifeguards has been given the green light by a cable network, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series joins the Weather Channel’s growing stable of original shows, the story notes. The program will air 13 half-hour episodes, and joins programs such as "Storm Riders" and "Coast Guard Alaska" on the channel.

"Content on all of the Weather Channel platforms focuses on weather and how it affects people’s everyday lives whether at work or play," said the network’s senior vice president of content and development, Michael Dingley, according to the story.
