National Geographic Channels announced that it has a new president, B&C reports. Replacing Steve Schiffman in the position is former Reveille chief Howard T. Owens, the story reports.

Owens will oversee programming, development, communications, research and business affairs units at National Geographic, Nat Geo WILD and Nat Geo Mundo, the story notes. He will report to Chief Executive David Lyle.

Schiffman will remain during a transition period, the article adds.

At Reveille, Owens helped debut shows including "The Biggest Loser," the story says.
