A British period drama that airs in the U.S. on PBS has been picked up for a third season, even before the second season has been seen by U.S. viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is the popular drama "Downton Abbey," which won several Primetime Emmy Awards for its first season. ITV announced it has ordered a new season.
The third season will focus on an 18-month period in 1920 and 1921, the announcement says.
The show’s second season will debut in the U.S. on PBS beginning Sunday, Jan. 8.
