A writer from ABC’s "Lost" will adapt a novel by Stephen King for an upcoming Showtime project, reports Deadline.com. "Lost" writer and producer Brian K. Vaughan will tackle "Under the Dome," a 2009 novel by King, the story reports.

The thriller is about a Maine town that suddenly is surrounded by a force field that shuts off the town from the rest of the world, the story says.

Vaughan was a writer on the third through fifth seasons of "Lost" and is also known for writing comic books series such as "Y: The Last Man," the piece adds.
