Teen Pop Star Justin Bieber Slams ‘Malicious’ Paternity Suit

Justin Bieber and his legal team responded angrily to a lawsuit from a 20-year-old California woman who claims the teenage pop star fathered her child, US Weekly reports.

Mariah Yeater alleges in the suit that she took the singer’s virginity backstage at one of his concerts and had a love child from the encounter, according to reports.

Yeater reportedly wants Bieber to take a paternity test. The lawsuit, filed in late October, asks Bieber to support the woman and her child, the story says.

Other reports point out that Yeater could face legal problems herself over the alleged encounter, as Bieber, 17, is underage.

Bieber’s representatives have denied the accusations in the lawsuit, the piece adds. A rep for Bieber provided a statement to the publication, saying: "While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory AND demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

A court hearing has reportedly been set for later this year.
