When Hallmark Hall of Fame Changed Channels, Its Audience Didn’t Follow

The Hallmark Hall of Fame has found a new network home on ABC, but apparently much of its audience didn’t follow, reports The New York Times’ ArtsBeat blog.

The franchise aired its first ABC Hallmark movie, "Mitch Albom’s Have a Little Faith," on Sunday, drawing 6.5 million viewers. That’s about half of the 13.5 million viewers who tuned in for last year’s "November Christmas," when Hallmark Hall of Fame was still airing on CBS, the story points out.

The Hallmark franchise ran on CBS for 16 years.

  1. I wanted to watch that, but I was busy unpacking after my trip home for Thanksgiving. Maybe not the best time to get a big audience.

  2. Too much competition on Sunday night. HBO and Showtime running their originals, plus the Networks – Amazing Race, CSI Miami, Good Wife, Desperate Housewives, Once Upon a Time and Sunday night football. It is already one of the toughest nights of the week. Why go up against that with a “new” product.
