"30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin was booted from an American Airlines flight Tuesday after reportedly throwing a tantrum and refusing to turn off his iPhone, according to the New York Post.
Baldwin refused to turn off his device because he was in the middle of a game, the story says. The actor is not alone in his attachment to his iPhone: In a recent study, more than half of Americans said they’d rather give up alcohol, caffeine or chocolate for a week than give up their smartphones, as previously reported.
According to a tweet by the actor, he was playing "Words with Friends," a Scrabble-like game, when he was "reamed" by a flight attendant, the Post notes. The incident took place in Los Angeles, on a flight bound for New York.
The actor eventually stormed to the bathroom, slammed the door, beat the walls — prompting the captain to ask the crew to find out what was going on — and was finally kicked off the flight, the piece adds.
Baldwin got on a later American flight, which left without incident, the story says.
Baldwin issued another tweet, writing, "Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950’s find jobs as flight attendants," the story says.
And now my appreciation of American Airlines has gone up. Good for kicking Baldwin off the plane. What a spoiled brat.
And how is this “news?”
He was playing on an iPad, not iPhone
should have kicked him out….30-thousand feet up.
