Organizers of the Grammy Awards announced today that they will give Steve Jobs, the late CEO and founder of Apple Computers, a posthumous Special Merit Award, reports CNET.com.
Jobs received a technical Grammy in 2002 for Apple’s contributions to the music industry and recording field.
In a statement, the Grammys explained that the latest recognition is for the way Jobs "helped to create products and technology that transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books. A creative visionary, Jobs’ innovations such as the iPod and its counterpart, the online iTunes store, revolutionized the industry and how music was distributed and purchased."
