HBO Renews One Show, Cancels Three Others

Dec 20, 2011  •  Post A Comment

HBO dished out some holiday cheer to one of its series today, but it was a bloodbath for much of the lineup. The network pulled the plug on "Hung," "Bored to Death" and "How to Make It in America," while announcing it will bring back "Enlightened," Deadline.com reports.

The news that "Enlightened" will get a second season comes on the heels of two Golden Globe nominations, including one for Laura Dern as best actress in a comedy series.

"Hung" and "Bored to Death" will wrap after three seasons, while "How to Make It in America" lasted two seasons.

  1. That is so HBO! On the holiday you cancel three shows!
But what can you expect from heartless fools an total idiots like Plepler and Lombard! They head a joke organization that does shows that only 140,000 people view and then they claim they have a hit show! Hell, in the real world they can’t even compete with the lowest rated show on television. What a JOKE these guys are!

  2. How to make it was a great show! How can it be canceled?

  3. Well, let’s see, an executive at the network looks at the schedule, cuts all the names out, throws them into a hat and then blindfolds himself (in the event a blindfold cannot be found, downing Jagermeister shots until blind drunk can be – and usually is – substituted). The whole thing is then dumped into the trashcan & set afire. Any slips still readable after that get picked up for next year.
