MTV’s "Teen Mom 2" debuted to the highest ratings in the show’s history, even as a watchdog group warned that the show is harmful to young women, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog.

The premiere of "Teen Mom 2’s” second season drew 4.2 million viewers, an increase of 17 percent from the show’s debut in January, the story says.

The Parents Television Council, meanwhile, warned that MTV is helping teens learn "that outlandish behavior is rewarded, and that degrading, sexualized language is not only accepted, it is encouraged," the story reports.

  1. No matter what anybody says about this show, I’m sure it will continue to increase in viewers for however long it stays on air. The MTV junkies out there just can’t get enough of it. I don’t care for it nor do I promote the show, but there are tons of other shows out there showing outlandish behavior being rewarded and degrading language and things being encouraged.
