An experiment by the Discovery Channel show “Mythbusters” went horribly wrong Tuesday, damaging two private homes, TMZ.com reports.

The experiment sent a cannonball through the homes in Dublin, Calif., leaving huge holes in the homes. Nobody was injured, according to the story.

TMZ reports: “Sgt. JD Nelson from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department tells ABC, ‘Mythbusters’ hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage were setting up to test a cannon’s ability to fire various objects, and began with a test-firing of a cannonball.

TMZ reports: “The cannonball was supposed to land harmlessly in a nearby hill — but something went wrong … and the ball, traveling at about 1000 ft/s, went over the hill bordering Camp Parks Military Firing Reservation, and into the neighboring town of Dublin, crashing through two separate houses before finally coming to rest … inside someone’s minivan.”

Production of the show has been put on hold while the incident is investigated, the story notes.
