ABC to Showcase Katie Couric ‘All Over the Place’ — With One Big Exception

ABC News President Ben Sherwood is pledging to showcase Katie Couric "all over the place" before her September talk show debut, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

But one job Couric won’t have with the network is filling in for Diane Sawyer on the evening news. Couric came to ABC after a stint as anchor of the evening news on CBS.

"Her first priority is the syndicated television show, no doubt about it," Sherwood said, according to the piece.

ABC News is already moving on the promise, the story notes. Couric recently appeared on "20/20" to interview Beyonce and on Monday ABC aired a promotional clip that included Couric with other network stars such as George Stephanopoulos, the piece adds.

  1. The article contradicts itself. First it says her program is a syndicated show. Then it says her program is an ABC Network Show. Which is it?
