After giving birth to their daughter, Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z reportedly caused hard feelings in a New York City hospital when their security blocked other parents from seeing their children, according to The New York Times.

One father, Edgar Ramirez, was trying to visit his wife and newborn, but security guards barred him from the neonatal unit for three hours, the story says. Another guard told the parents of premature twins that the "floor is on lockdown," the story adds.

“It was just really disgusting,” said Rozz Nash-Coulon, the mother of the twins.

A representative of the State Health Department said it hadn’t received formal complaints, but that it was checking to see whether there had been "any violations," the story says. A Lenox Hill Hospital rep denied reports that the stars had paid more than $1 million to rent and redecorate a wing of the hospital, the story adds.

  1. It’s stories like this that make the 99 percent want to hunt down and victimize the 1 percent. If I was that dad, and I wasn’t allowed to see my newborn because some overpaid celebrity had given birth, they’d have had to zap me with a taser. Twice.
I’d have called the cops on Beyonce’s private security.
If they were THAT concerned about security, they should have had the baby in a private suite with portable hospital equipment brought in.
