A contractor who has worked on ABC’s "Extreme Makeover" has been arrested and charged with arson, reports NBCConnecticut.com. Accused of setting his business — a wood stove and pellet fuel company — on fire is Bruce "Bruno" Hayn, 54, the story reports.

Hayn was charged with several violations in connection with the fire at his business, Shur Fire, in Norwich, Conn., the story notes. Hayn filed insurance claims for several hundred thousands of dollars after the fire, which caused heavy damage to the building, according to the story. Investigators determined the fire had been set, the piece adds.

Hayne worked on a team that rebuilt a home in Voluntown and another in Griswald, with the latter having been destroyed by fire, the story notes.

He was charged Monday with first-degree arson, criminal attempt at arson, insurance fraud and second-degree false statement, according to the report.
