A former reality show participant has been killed in what is being called the first homicide of 2012 in San Francisco, the San Francisco Examiner reports.

Joseph Minozzi, a 30-year-old drug addict who appeared on A&E’s "Intervention" in 2010, was found in the street at 2:30 a.m. Thursday by police and died in the hospital shortly thereafter, the story reports. Minozzi had been stabbed in the torso.

In his "Intervention" episode, the subject of the intervention was Minozzi’s former girlfriend, Rachel Coccio, also a junkie. In the show, Minozzi abused her and tried to talk her out of going to rehab. However, Coccio did go to rehab and Minozzi did five months in prison for assault.

After incarceration, he also went into rehab, according to "Intervention."

On her Facebook page, Coccio paid tribute to her late boyfriend, writing, "i love you babyboy. always and forever. NO MATTER WHAT."
