HBO has tapped Ben Stiller and Jonathan Safran Foer to create a comedy pilot, with the project in negotiations with former “M*A*S*H” star Alan Alda to co-star, reports Deadline.com.

Stiller has agreed to star in, direct and executive produce “All Talk,” which comes from Foer, the novelist known for books such as "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," the piece notes.

The pilot is also being executive produced by film producer Scott Rudin, along with Stiller, Eli Bush and Foer, the story adds.

The pilot, slated to tape in the fall, is described as an irreverent look at the life of a Jewish family in Washington, D.C., according to the article.
