NBC has ordered a pilot for a family comedy from “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy and “Glee” writer Ali Adler, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is “The New Normal.” The story reports: “The project landed at the network after a multiple network bidding war and hails from 20th Television, where Murphy has an overall deal. Murphy and Adler — who joined the show’s writing staff this season — will pen the script alongside Dante Di Loreto, who also produces Murphy’s FX horror anthology ‘American Horror Story.’”
Murphy is set to direct the pilot for the new show, a single-camera comedy about a blended family that includes a gay couple.
Andrew Randalls of “The Book of Mormon” will play one of the three lead roles, the story reports.
