Rumors of Talk Show’s Demise Are Premature

Jan 30, 2012  •  Post A Comment

Speculation that a new syndicated daytime talk show from NBCUniversal is in trouble appears to be off the mark, TVNewsCheck reports.

“Trisha,” starring British personality Trisha Goddard, has reportedly been sold in 75% of the market for a fall 2012 bow. The show became the subject of speculation that it was in trouble after Goddard was a no-show at last week’s NATPE conference in Miami.

"Trisha" is a conflict-resolution program in which problems among guests are solved by the end of the show, setting it apart from other NBCU shows such as "Maury," "Steve Wilkos" and "Jerry Springer."

Including major markets, NBC anticipates announcing this week that it has landed clearances on stations that reach 75% of the TV homes.
