The 500th customer to sign up for a ride on the Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo rocket plane is the star of "Two and a Half Men," Ashton Kutcher, reports MSNBC. Kutcher has laid out the $200,000 airfare for the trip on the VSS Enterprise.
Richard Branson, Virgin Galactic’s founder, blogged about Kutcher’s joining the voyage: "I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him. He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."
Other celebrities have reportedly also signed up for the voyage, including Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Katy Perry. Beyonce and Jay-Z are also said to be contemplating it.
The space ship is still in the testing stages, with an estimated 2013 start time for commercial flights. The ship is expected to fly out of New Mexico.
