A spokesperson for cable network IFC confirmed that the channel has canceled an original series, The Huffington Post reports. And it’s not good news for those who love humor.

Those two funny headlines in quotes above are trom the wonderfully satirical website The Onion.

And word has arrived today that IFC has canceled its “Onion News Network” series, which will not be back for a third season. The series is hosted by Brooke Alvarez.

The show, based on The Onion publication, began as a series of Web shorts on theonion.com before expanding to 30 minutes and debuting on IFC in 2011.

The cancellation of the program comes at the same time that the newspaper’s editorial staff is moving from New York City to Chicago.
