Sitcom in Trouble at Fox

Fox is pulling back on its strategy for a sitcom that has suffered with skimpy ratings and negative reviews, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The network had planned to move “I Hate My Teenage Daughter” from Tuesday nights to Wednesdays. Instead, Fox now plans to continue with two-hour editions of “American Idol” on Wednesday nights instead of cutting the show back to 90 minutes. “Teenage Daughter” is scheduled to end its current run on Tuesday, April 3, the story reports, but it’s possible it will wrap up even before that date.

Fox said it plans to televise the remaining episodes of the show during the summer, according to the report.

The most recent episode pulled in a slim 1.4 rating in the key demo of viewers 18-49, with only 3.6 million total viewers, the story notes.

  1. Is this show even worse than “2 Broke Girls” on CBS? That show is AWFUL!

  2. It’s not worse that 2 Broke Girls; that show is pretty bad. This one had some promise, but the concept and characters were weak. And the “daughters” are extremely unlikeable. The best ones on the show are the Kate Finnerman and her character’s ex-hubby. They have really good comic timing, but are almost wasted in this show.
