The star of a Discovery Channel series has been fired by the cable network, Reuters reports. The channel reportedly dumped "Man vs. Wild" star Bear Grylls in a battle over his contract.
Grylls, 37, was let go due to a "continuing contractual dispute," according to Discovery. The show featured the British adventurer being dropped into wild places where he was forced to survive by eating insects and drinking his own urine, the story notes.
While it wasn’t clear what the dispute was about, there were reports that it was centered on two unannounced projects for which Grylls was contracted, the story says.
The channel said Tuesday it has “terminated all current productions” with Grylls.
