With “Roseanne” co-star John Goodman already on board, two more cast members have been signed for Roseanne Barr’s upcoming comedy pilot at NBC, Deadline.com reports.
Joining the project are Mary Birdsong (“The Descendants”) and Romy Rosemont (“Glee”). The multicamera sitcom, “Downwardly Mobile,” features Barr as the manager of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to the economically challenged residents.
Birdsong will play Kathie Lee, described in the story as “quintessential ‘trailer trash’ who runs the pizza/beer joint in the trailer park.” Rosemont, who has a recurring role as Finn’s mother on “Glee,” will play another park resident, who works in a nursing home.
The show is co-created by Barr, John Argent and Eric Gilliland, with Gilliland tackling the job of showrunner.
Goodman signed up for the project earlier this year, as previously reported.
