Oprah Winfrey talked Monday about problems in getting her cable network OWN off the ground, saying she made “101 mistakes” in the process, Reuters reports.

Winfrey told “CBS This Morning” she was poorly prepared for the January 2011 launch. The channel has been plagued by low ratings, high costs and management turnover, with 30 employees recently being laid off. However, as reported earlier today, OWN has just signed a distribution deal with Comcast that will expand the network’s reach.

Appearing on the CBS show co-hosted by Winfrey’s longtime friend Gayle King, Winfrey said: "The idea of creating a network was something that I’d wanted to do; had I’d known that it was this difficult, I might have done something else."

Winfrey added: "I did not think it was going to be easy … but if I knew then what I know now I might have made some different choices. I would say if I was writing a book about it, I could call the book ‘101 mistakes.’"

One of her biggest mistakes, she said, was launching before she was ready. She said she should have waited until after she wrapped up “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which ended its 25-year run in May 2011.

Winfrey added that she warned Discovery Communications, her partner in the venture, that "the thing that I am most worried about is who is going to lead this train, because I can’t do it."
