USA Network has named a new executive vice president of original scripted programming, promoting head of scripted development Bill McGoldrick to the position, reports Deadline.com.

With his promotion, McGoldrick will continue to oversee USA’s development of drama and comedy series, long-form and event programming, the story says.

McGoldrick started at the network in 1998 as an executive assistant, then moved into series development, working on "Monk" and other projects. In 2003 he was named vice president of series development, working on shows including "Psych."

After spending four years at Spike TV, he returned to USA in 2009, the story says.
