A police show called "True Detective" that stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey is being shopped to cable networks, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed.
In the potential anthology series, Harrelson plays Martin Hart while McConaughey plays Rust Cohle, as the two detectives search for a serial killer in Louisiana, the story notes. The project would mark McConaughey’s first series regular commitment, while returning Harrelson to the TV screen in his first series regular role since he left "Cheers," the piece says.
Taking a page from "American Horror Story," the show would replace the cast and story after its eight-episode first season, the article adds.
The project is developed by Anonymous Content, which will also produce.
