ABC has announced the addition of a new contributor to “Good Morning America.” Joining the morning show will be Ben Mulroney, who is a well-known television anchor in Canada.

ABC News President Ben Sherwood made the announcement. Mulroney will debut on air this weekend, Sherwood said.

Mulroney will split his time between his new duties with ABC News and his work for Canada’s CTV, where he anchors “etalk,” Canada’s top entertainment news program.

Mulroney was recently seen co-hosting “Live! with Kelly Ripa.”

  1. Just what the AM news shows need – more TMZ-like reporting… Why don’t they just go full on and put Access Hollywood on instead of GMA?

  2. Lisa…you have it right…when Charles Gibson was on GMA with Diane Sawyer…it was a class act…today…George should divorce himself from it…stay with his Sunday show and laugh all the way to the bank.
Sorry, ABC & NBC, but Charlie Rose has out classed you both for Mon-Fri mornings.
NBC may have spent $25 Mil on Matt, ( he is worth it ), but the rest of TODAY is in the dumper.

  3. With respect, whether you enjoy the prevailing morning show format, which melds news and pop culture, or not is not at issue here. GMA is the best of the network morning programs.
