‘American Idol’ Judge Sells Singing Show Featuring Siblings

Jun 1, 2012  •  Post A Comment

One of the "American Idol" judges has sold a singing competition featuring siblings — think the Jackson 5 or Hanson — to MTV, reports Deadline.com.

The untitled series from Randy Jackson will feature groups with siblings who compete against each other, the story says. With the Jackson-produced show in the early stages of development, the project is preparing for casting and is searching for family bands and groups, the piece adds.

It’s unclear whether Jackson will remain with "Idol," as none of the judges have deals beyond the show’s 11th season. Jackson also executive produces "America’s Best Dance Crew" on MTV, which is in its seventh season.
