Comcast Predicts Surge in VOD Advertising

Comcast is predicting a 10-fold surge in video-on-demand advertising impressions over the next year via its free VOD content, reports Multichannel News, citing Chip Meehan, Comcast Spotlight’s West regional vice president of integrated media sales.

"We have 400 million monthly VOD views on Comcast. I’d love to have a dollar for every view," Meehan said at the On Demand Summit. He predicted the cable company will see "hockey stick" growth in VOD advertising revenue, with the cable company completing licensing pacts with programmers.
