Lady Gaga suffered a concussion during a performance in Auckland, New Zealand, when a backup performer accidentally hit her with a pole during the concert, CBSNews.com reports. The incident took place Sunday during the third of three shows in Auckland.

She was hit after the backup performer was removing the pole from the central stage. Gaga continued the show, the story notes.

Her makeup artist wrote on Twitter, "Gaga has a concussion but she is going to be okay … cant believe she finished the show," according to the piece.

Gaga’s publicist noted today that the Auckland shows sold out and were a “huge success.”

The report adds: “The singer’s world tour got off to a rocky start in Asia early this spring with authorities in several countries calling for a ban of the concerts, which they called provocative and risque. In fact, concerts in Indonesia were canceled following threats by Islamic hard-liners, who called her a ‘devil worshiper.’"
