The opening game of the NBA Finals, in which the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Miami Heat, generated ABC’s best-ever overnight ratings for a Game 1, the network reports.

The broadcast averaged an 11.8 household rating in metered markets, peaking with a 14.1 rating from 11:30-11:45 p.m. ET.

The broadcast was up 10% from last year’s opening game between the Heat and the Dallas Mavericks, which averaged a 10.7 rating.

The previous network record was an 11.6 average for Game 1 in 2004, between the L.A. Lakers and Detroit Pistons.

The game generated a 44.3 average rating in Oklahoma City, a record for an NBA game in the market. It pulled a 30.5 average in Miami.
