Actors Rob Lowe and Scott Bakula have joined a high-profile HBO production, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.

The production is the pay-cable network’s upcoming Liberace biopic, “Behind the Candelabra.” Michael Douglas stars in the project as the legendary pianist.

Lowe, a co-star of “Parks & Recreation,” is reportedly putting the finishing touches on a deal to play Liberace’s plastic surgeon. Bakula, of “Men of a Certain Age,” is slated to play choreographer Bob Black.

Black introduced Liberace to his longtime partner, Scott Thorson, who will be played by Matt Damon, the story notes.

The project will give a behind-the-scenes look at Liberace’s relationship with Thorson, his younger partner. Steven Soderbergh is directing.

For Lowe, the casting marks the latest TV movie role following his title portrayal in Lifetime’s "Drew Peterson: Untouchable," the story notes.

Dan Aykroyd and Debbie Reynolds are also signed on for “Candelabra” — Aykroyd as Liberace’s manager and Reynolds as the musician’s mother.
