Russell Brand Asks Katy Perry to Cut Him From Her Movie — and She Shuts Him Down

Russell Brand wants his estranged wife Katy Perry to eliminate footage of their relationship from her upcoming autobiographical documentary, “Part of Me,” the U.K.’s The Sun reports. Perry’s response: fuhgeddaboudit.

Perry is reportedly keeping the “warts ‘n’ all” footage of the couple’s failed marriage in the fly-in-the-wall production. “Katy had a word with producers, but decided the movie wouldn’t flow without having snippets of their life together,” the story reports.

A source told the publication: “When she first decided to make the movie in 2010, Russell agreed to be filmed on the condition he got to see the final edit. Being a fly-on-the-wall documentary, he knew full well that it was going to be warts and all — and wasn’t … comfortable with that. But Katy persuaded him to do it.”

Brand was reportedly concerned that footage shot while he and Perry were a couple might portray him in a negative way. But now that Perry and Brand have broken up, Perry has final cut — and put bluntly, Brand can take a hike.

“She can keep whatever she wants in the film,” the source said.
