The season premiere of an AMC drama Sunday night pulled in some big numbers, including a series best for a premiere, EW.com reports.
“Breaking Bad” attracted 2.9 million viewers for the debut, up 14% from last year’s premiere, the story reports. The number equaled last year’s season finale.
Adding in the encore broadcast, the show delivered 3.5 million viewers.
The show was up 34% in adults 18-49.
The report notes: “’Breaking Bad’ has had a remarkable run. Though the acclaimed drama has never been a huge performer, the show has managed to grow its audience every season. That doesn’t normally happen for heavily serialized shows, which typically peak in their first few years.”
Thanks to the corporate pissing contest between AMC’s parent corporation and Dish Network I and a heck of a lot more people had to miss the show. We pay enough money that we should not be screwed over. If I didn’t have a contract to finish I would cut the cord.
The Nielsen measurement system strikes again. 14MM HH’s less, yet up 14%. Amazing.
