Another Presidential Likeness Surfaces in an HBO Program — This Time It’s Obama

Just a few weeks after a controversy arose over the use of a prosthetic head resembling former President George W. Bush in HBO’s "Game of Thrones,” HBO may be at it again. Deadline.com reports that the HBO prop department turned again to a presidential theme for "True Blood," where several Barack Obama masks are used as disguises for a truck of thugs.

As previously reported, Bush’s lookalike head was impaled on a spike in “Game of Thrones.”

In the "True Blood" episode, the thugs pulled up and fired at several of the show’s characters, including Sam Merlotte, the story says.

"Though the gang’s appearance was more like 1991′s ‘Point Break’ — where bank robbers wore presidential masks in pulling their heists — than ‘Games’’ depiction of Bush, it was still an odd occurrence considering the timing of the ‘Thrones’ controversy," the story notes.

An HBO representative called it "a complete and utter coincidence and one show has nothing to do with the other,” according to the piece.

  1. NOBODY shoots at Sam Merlotte and gets away with it!!! This is just another example of Barak Obama overstepping his authority as Commander in Chief!!!
