Details are emerging about an accident Wednesday evening on the Brooklyn set of the CBS legal drama “The Good Wife” that knocked actress Kristin Chenoweth unconscious and sent her to the hospital.

Chenoweth, 43, has since been released and is said to be doing OK. TMZ reports that a representative for Chenoweth issued a statement saying: "Kristin has been released from the hospital and is home recovering. She thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes."

As previously reported, Chenoweth was struck by a falling piece of equipment, which has been described variously as a lighting silk or scaffolding. She was treated by a team from the New York Fire Department before being rushed to the hospital.

The New York Post reports that the diminutive Chenoweth, who stands 4-foot-11, suffered a seizure after being hit by the piece of equipment — which reportedly fell about 15 feet and hit her on the head.

Chenoweth “was seizing for about 30 seconds and briefly lost consciousness, according to the sources,” the Post reports.

A witness who works nearby, Valeriu Critac, called 911 and rushed to help Chenoweth, the story reports. Said Critac: “It happened so fast, so obviously there was no time to waste. There was a little blood on the sidewalk. She wasn’t moving. I looked at her and she had her eyes closed.

The story quotes another witness saying Chenoweth was hit squarely on the head. “It was a big hit,” the witness said. “She was definitely hurt. She didn’t move.”

Another person also was slightly injured in the accident, the story reports.

Responders rigged up Chenoweth with an oxygen mask and a neck brace, taking her on a stretcher to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, according to the story.

CBS said in a statement that a gust of wind had knocked over the equipment.

  1. As little as she is, if that gust of wind was big enough to knock over scaffolding I’m surprised it didn’t knock Kristin over too.
