One of the fixtures of past seasons of NBC’s “The Office” will appear again during the show’s upcoming ninth season, reports New York Magazine.

Actress Mindy Kaling, who plays Kelly Kapoor, is out of the lineup as far as full time is concerned, as she will be focused on her own Fox sitcom, "The Mindy Project," the story notes.

But the writer/actress will appear in at least two episodes during season nine. Still to be determined is whether the show will write off Kaling’s character, having Kelly leave Dunder-Mifflin.

Kaling was set to appear today at the TV Critics Association summer press tour.
