"Fringe" creators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have had their latest project picked up by Fox, reports Entertainment Weekly. "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," an adaptation of the story of Ichabod Crane, was granted a put-pilot commitment by the network.
According to a spokesperson for Fox, Kurtzman and Orci’s interpretation of the Washington Irving short story is set in the town of Sleepy Hollow, but theirs is a “modern-day supernatural thriller based on the 1820 short story.”
Tim Burton did a feature version of the short story in 1999 called "Sleepy Hollow" with Johnny Depp cast as Crane. ABC Family did a TV movie adaptation in 2004 called "The Hollow" with Kevin Zegers and Kaley Cuoco ("The Big Bang Theory").
