A longtime CBS correspondent has revealed he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, reports TVNewser.com.

Bill Geist, appearing on “CBS Sunday Morning,” said: “I’ve had it for years, told no one, not even my kids. I didn’t want them to worry, didn’t want to be seen as ‘the sick guy.’ Today, I’m telling you."

Geist appeared with his son Willie Geist, who is substituting for Matt Lauer this week on NBC’s "Today" show, according to a separate TVNewser.com story.

“That was my most proud day with my dad,” Willie Geist said on “Today.” “That was not easy for him because I know what he’s gone through over the years to deal with it. So, very proud and more proud that he’s going to now help people.”
