HBO has struck what is being called "a secret deal" for an untitled project focusing on Fox News President Roger Ailes, Deadline.com reports.

The project is based on a manuscript by Gabriel Sherman, who has written two cover stories for New York magazine about Ailes and Fox News, according to the story.

Sherman signed a contract with Random House last year for a book that was tentatively titled “The Loudest Voice in the Room: An Inside Account of the Rise of Fox News," although the project doesn’t now have a formal title.

The HBO project will be executive produced by two of Ailes’ competitors: co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s "Morning Joe,” according to the article.

"None of this has been announced yet because sources tell me Sherman is still researching the book and plans to finish writing it by the end of the summer for a 2013 publishing date," writes Deadline’s Nikki Finke.

  1. Look for the Faux News spin machine to go into high speed spin on this one. Remember what they did about the Sarah Palin piece? That was lambasted chewed up and spit out by Faux News and no one had ever seen it. Turned out it was rather fair minded and sympathetic toward Palin. As with all thing Faux News, react before the facts and if your wrong, never admit the facts. Never ever let facts get in the way of a good smear piece.

  2. If a book was #1 on the New York Times best seller list for 6 weeks in a row and hit the list in the #1 position – but no mainstream media will report on it – is that “Faux” news or NO news? Take your head out of the sand and maybe read Emperor’s New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen. You have convinced yourself that only you are smart enough to see the fine fabric! What a joke!

  3. Wow, another hit piece on a conservative by ever more left-wing HBO.
    How completely predictable.

  4. Predictable….and FUN!!!
