NBC Yanks Drama Series From Lineup

NBC has pulled a drama series from the network schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series — the medical show “Saving Hope” — has two more episodes left in its freshman season, which had been scheduled to air Sept. 8 and Sept. 15.

Instead, the show’s last two episodes will run online, the story reports. The show stars “Smallville’s” Erica Durance.

The slots in the broadcast lineup will be filled by repeats of "America’s Got Talent" and "The Voice," the story says.

“Saving Hope” failed to draw a big audience after debuting on NBC with 3.1 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating in adults 18 to 49. It has been renewed for a second season by Canada’s CTV.

  1. 2 episodes left and they yank it to rubn repeats.. somebody at NBC has their head way up their cloaca.. typical. No wonder the networks are failing

  2. Well now … are we really surprised? When it comes to idiotic moves no other network can come close to NBC! No … not one!!!

  3. Just like NBC to pull a series just before the conclusion of the first season episodes. NBC could have run the 2 episodes back-to-back on a Saturday night.
Why begin watching any new drama(especially on NBC) this fall, since any viewers will be left hanging if the series are canceled.
Hopefully “Saving Hope” will find a home on one of the cable networks–since the series was renewed for a second season in Canada.

  4. I’m a big “Parenthood” fan. With NBC I’ll just be grateful each week it airs and not another America’s Got Talent re-play. #thenbcsofhowtoruinanetwork

  5. I don’t totally agree. ABC cancelled LOST, one of my all time favs..

  6. Lost overstayed its welcome by about 2 seasons anyway. Would have been much better with a tighter arc and shorter run.
