HBO’s "True Blood" has added a veteran film actor as a series regular for the show’s sixth season, TVLine.com reports. Joining the show is Rutger Hauer, known for “Blade Runner,” “The Hitcher” and other film roles.
Hauer will portray Macklyn, a dark figure with ties to Sookie and Jason Stackhouse. In director Ridley Scott’s "Blade Runner," Hauer played a robot trying to escape capture.
He has previously appeared in TV shows such as "Smallville" and "Alias."
The sixth season of "True Blood" will premiere in June.
