Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds — whose long career was jump-started by her lead performance in the 1952 musical classic “Singin’ in the Rain” — has been hospitalized, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Reynolds, 80, reportedly had a bad reaction to medication. Her manager is quoted as saying: “Ms. Reynolds has had an adverse reaction to some medicine and hopefully will be released from the hospital today.”

There was some uncertainty about whether Reynolds is canceling appearances as a result of her health situation. Some news outlets reported that she is canceling concerts for the next three months, but her manager indicated that the decision has not yet been made.

Reynolds’ manager told EW: “We are taking a wait and see position regarding future personal appearances and will abide by the doctor’s advice.”

Reynolds, the mother of actress Carrie Fisher, was nominated for an Oscar in 1965 for “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” She has an Emmy nomination for a guest appearance on “Will & Grace” and a Daytime Emmy nomination for the Showtime children’s special “A Gift of Love: The Daniel Huffman Story.”

She recently appeared onscreen opposite Katherine Heigl on the big screen in “One for the Money.”
