NBC Pulls Off a Ratings Achievement It Hasn’t Done in Almost 10 Years

NBC has scored a ratings achievement that it hasn’t accomplished in almost 10 years. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the network pulled off a three-day winning streak in the key demographic of adults 18 to 49.

"The last time the network won adults 18-49 this many nights in a row during the regular season, Matthew Perry was starring in ‘Friends’ — and ‘E.R.,’ ‘Will & Grace’ and ‘The West Wing’ were still on the air," the story notes.

The network, which has been mired in fourth place in recent years, won on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. The last time NBC had a three-night winning streak in season was Nov. 12-14, 2003.

The network has been getting the usual bump from “Sunday Night Football,” but it has also been helped by strong performances for "The Voice" and "Revolution," the story notes.

Back in 2003 the streak took place on Wednesday through Friday and featured a Thursday night “Must See TV” lineup that included “Scrubs,” “Will & Grace” and “E.R.”

  1. Two shows do not a network make. What happens when Sunday Night Football is over and The Voice takes its break.
